The Fashion and Textile Design Hub Redesign

Brief: Redesign The Fashion and Textile Design Hub is an exciting new initiative created “to support creative individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses in the fashion and textile design sectors in Derry~Londonderry”. While the existing website contains a lot of useful information, it does not communicate in a clear, enticing or memorable way. This is where you come in.


The logo represents how The Hub is about making connections throughout the fashion and textile industry. This is shown through the icon of 4 connecting Hs. The aim was to create a website that was fresh, clean and contemporary. When speaking with the client, one word that jumped out at me was canvas, and I aimed to use this in a tag line on the site, to draw the viewer in. The four main components of The Hub, to me, are what drive the company. Having them on the home page as clickable buttons shows their importance. The mobile format reflects what is shown on the desktop version of the website. The components and Become A Member buttons are enlarged to make them still clickable with the touch of a finger. The running theme through out all the pages on all formats is a cover photograph giving the viewer a glimpse into the contents of the page before they even read it.
